Limerick company BHSL has appointed former CEO of Kerry Group Denis Brosnan as chairman, as the company aims to go global.

The family business, based in County Limerick, which developed a technology for poultry farmers to generate power from waste has appointed former ESB chief executive Padraig McManus and retired Supreme Court judge Fidelma Macken as well as Limerick businessman Tom Lynch and corporate-financier David Hickey.

The appointments come as the company aims to raise €7m through a new equity drive to increase sales overseas.

BHSL managing director Declan O’Connor says its exciting times for the Limerick company.
